Weight Loss with Activated Carbon: Myth or Reality?

The variety of modern diets is amazing. It seems that any product or medicine in the eyes of losing weight acquires unique properties that reduce weight. But is it really so? In most cases, no! So losing weight with activated carbon is just a publicity stunt or an incorrect interpretation of the properties of the drug.

The so-called activated carbon diet is carried out in two ways:

  1. Gradually increase the dosage of the drug, bringing it to 1 tablet for every 10 kg of weight
  2. The number of tablets equal to 1 piece per 10 kg of weight is drunk in 3 sets during the day.

Activated carbon in itself is safe, so it is a natural remedy, and at the same time it is an excellent absorbent. This action is largely due to its porous structure, due to which it absorbs all toxins and fluids, thereby purifying the body. This is one of the reasons that weight loss with activated carbon is considered real and harmless. In fact, coal removes all unnecessary and harmful substances, among which fat is not included. Its use is justified in case of poisoning the body with harmful substances, as well as with intestinal disorders.

In itself, losing weight with activated carbon is not effective, but its periodic use has a beneficial effect on the whole body. At the same time, the duration of such cleaning should not exceed 10 days, and it is better to use the drug on an empty stomach. So activated carbon is impractical to use as a separate drug for weight loss, but it makes sense to use it as an excellent detox and cleaning agent for the whole body. Even cleaning with activated charcoal is not possible without first consulting a doctor, as there are a number of contraindications for use and some side effects that you should know about in advance. So people with constipation will do more harm than good, because it has the ability to absorb liquid, thereby stimulating the development of these constipations.

Both versions of such a diet suggest that for 10 days a person eats only activated charcoal and water. It is worth noting that even without the first participant, such a diet will help to significantly reduce weight, but this will not happen due to a decrease in body fat, but due to muscle burning. In addition, over these days the body will lose a significant amount of the vitamins and minerals it needs, so the benefits of a diet with activated charcoal are very doubtful.

Do not consider losing weight with activated charcoal as a panacea in the fight against obesity. Most likely, the effect of this drug on the body was either too overestimated or incorrectly interpreted. Undoubtedly, coal will become an excellent assistant in the removal of harmful substances, thanks to its porous structure and natural origin, but as regards the issues of achieving an ideal figure, it is more likely to maintain neutrality.

The use of absolutely any drug sold through the pharmacy network must be agreed with the doctor. So even the most harmless at first glance activated charcoal can cause intestinal disorders, for example. Do not believe in the miraculous power of pills and shift all responsibility to combat excess weight on them. The use of coal will be reasonable and appropriate if the person adheres to a balanced diet, but at the same time wants to cleanse the body. Such a measure is short-term and should not exceed the established threshold of 10 days. Losing weight is an extremely time-consuming process that is required to change not only the nutrition system, but the whole lifestyle of a person as a whole. A short-term diet will give results only for a short period of time. For more stable results, you need to completely review your entire lifestyle and stick to its new version for several years.
