You should be especially careful when buying potatoes in order to continue to use a high-quality product and benefit your body. In the ripening season of the vegetable, it is better to give preference to young potatoes, as it has more benefits and rich taste than last year's crop. In this case, root crops should be solid, without a greenish color, which indicates the content of a toxic substance, which is formed due to the presence of potatoes in direct sunlight for a long time. It is also necessary to remember that potato chips, which are so popular today, do not bring any benefit (but, on the contrary, harm health). They contain many carcinogens that adversely affect the body as a whole. In this case, the calorie content of potatoes in chips is far from the same as in boiled (or even fried) form. If we talk about a young vegetable, then its calorie content is about 60-80 kcal per 100 g of product, but the chips contain more than 500 kcal. Therefore, replacing healthy mashed potatoes, stewed, boiled or fried potatoes with delicious, but extremely harmful chips is at least unreasonable. It is better not to use such a product at all (especially when it comes to children) or to regale it only occasionally and in small quantities.
