According to the strategy of launching Intel processors on the market already in recent years, the next tenth generation includes several heterogeneous groups: along with the
already presented 10-nm Intel Ice Lake , the 14-nm Comet Lake will also live here in their various forms . In late August, the official announcement
of the Comet Lake mobile line for portable devices took place.
Mobile Comet Lake on the Legacy rights received model indexes of the "old model", not the same as those used in Ice Lake. In general, the picture is as follows (clickable so that you can read the small text).
Unlike Ice Lake, Comet Lake uses 9+ generation graphics cores - they debuted in 2017 at Kaby Lake. Core i3 has 23 actuators, the rest - 24, their operating frequency is 1.0-1.1 GHz. Other main characteristics are given in the table.
Compare the characteristics with those that we have already seen in Ice Lake.
As you can see, the new old line has a higher maximum frequency, more cores and a cache at maximum. Everything else is confusingly similar, including names, which will add intrigue to the selection process. Anandtech website experts compared the two ranges from a consumer point of view, and thatβs what they did. The conditional winner in the nomination is marked in bold.
In terms of security, Comet Lake received exactly the same set of patches as Ice Lake. Again, the resemblance is rare.
The list of Comet Lake interfaces is shown in the figure. Compared with the predecessors of the ninth generation, we note the integrated Wi-Fi 6 controller (AX201), as well as support for DDR4-2666 and LPDDR4X-2933 memory.
New processors will appear on sale this quarter.
