An open list of PHP events, speakers and organizers on GitHub

We think you noticed that Skyeng is actively involved in the life of the PHP community in Russia. But even with our capabilities and resources it is difficult to organize or take part in an event not in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Even more difficult is for those who have something to share with the community, but they just don’t know about the existence of a PHP hangout in their city or region.

So we decided to do a useful thing: a calendar of events related to PHP , and attach to it a list of sites, interested companies and speakers in the form of an open repository on GitHub . Why do we need this? We firmly know that IT life exists outside the MKAD and KAD - in the regions - so we decided to share this information with everyone!

Our public project for the PHP community can be conditionally divided into two parts: the calendar of upcoming events and a list of potential organizers, speakers and just sympathetic companies.

The calendar has already marked six events, five of which will be held before the end of the year in the regions and one in St. Petersburg.

How do we all know that? Well, at least in one of the next events from the calendar, our developers will participate in this PHP-mitap in Ulyanovsk, which we wrote about earlier . But by the way, in general, our developers work remotely and live throughout Russia, so there are no problems with getting some of the information, it only remained to systematize it. It is much more difficult in situations where the developers themselves are not up to date with events in their own cities, so a list has also been created, which we will discuss below.

We compiled the list according to the following criteria:

For example, here is what we know about Rostov-on-Don:

Getting into this list or calendar is very easy, because we just chose GitHub :). Everything is organized through commits, and how exactly to issue them can be read in CONTRIBUTING.md .

The commits in this story are extremely important, since we are confident that with the help of other community members we will be able to collect many times more information. Ideally, we want to collect data on all major cities of Russia (and maybe the CIS).

PHP Event Calendar - Experiment. If it succeeds, then, quite possibly, we will repeat it for other languages or technologies.

Thank you all for your attention and we will meet at the meetings! By the way, the closest, from Ulyanovsk, can be viewed live .
