Phone scammers. The first action in which I am kindly told about other scammers

Everyone has heard of modern telephone scammers. Many have heard about how seemingly not stupid friends fell for their fishing rods. How not to become a victim? It would probably be useful to know in advance the scenarios of such "divorces" in order to be mentally prepared. Not just not getting caught. But also be able to "support the conversation." Why let go of such interlocutors at once? Let them suffer a little, they will spend time on, it seems, an almost ready-made victim. Perhaps with this waste of time you can save a couple of the real victims of these bastards.

Such calls come to me sometimes. And I must say, always I immediately sent such callers. But after the past, which happened about a month ago, I thought, am I doing the right thing? I decided to try next time to make an effort on myself, to conduct a more detailed “interview”. And so, today this next time happened.

In this post I give a transcript of the first part of the conversation. I’ll add audio later, as I’ll figure out how to do it better. If such content is interesting, you will find three more parts. Where there will be something to smile at.

I received a call from +7 495 201-57-37. I have no idea if Sberbank is a number or not. In our modern reality, this does not seem to matter anymore. Later on WhatsApp I received a message from the number +7 968 898-41-99 with an agreed upon document (damn it, scumbag) about the need to transfer my funds to an account in the most secure bank in Russia (and yes, this is not Sberbank, according to their “employees” "). But more about that in the following parts.

In the process of communication, False Dmitry often used my name and patronymic for a more soulful conversation. All this I safely cut out from audio and text. And so it happened quite voluminously. Also, all the pauses, oohs and sighs with which our conversation was generously diluted were cut in the audio.

All the financial data from the conversation was completely fictitious and invented on the go.

The purpose of the first call, obviously, is to gain confidence and prepare the ground for the second "entry into the brain." So.

- My name is Dmitry Kushnarev, financial control service of Sberbank.

- So.

- Did you enter your Sberbank online 7 minutes ago from the city of Bryansk?

- No, I didn’t.

- Do you have a circle of people to whom you transmitted the data to enter your Sberbank online?

- No, there is no such circle of persons.

- In this case, I record an unauthorized entry into your personal Sberbank-online. For a period of 15 minutes, your credit card service will be suspended.

- So.

- At the moment I will fill out an application for the installation of two-factor protection. And also I need to ask you some questions so that we can know how your data was compromised. Tell me, maybe you left information on Sberbank cards when making payments in online stores?

- No.

- Do you often use public wi-fi networks?

- No.

- I fix this information. Tell me, when was the last time you used your Sberbank online?

- Well, probably the day before yesterday.

- Look, I opened the statement for the previous five banking days. It appears to me that the input was made from three different mobile devices, two based on android, one based on ayos. Which of these three devices did you use directly to enter your Sberbank online?

- I used an iPhone.

- Did you take third-party devices to enter your Sberbank-online?

- No, I didn’t.

- In this case, the iPhone and Android are also unauthorized devices.

“Why, if I used it, an iPhone?”

- Sorry, I mentioned, two androids are unauthorized. Look, I enter them into a financial claim, so that these devices are blocked to enter your Sberbank-online. Tell me, when was the last time you used your Sberbank debit card?

- Also probably the day before yesterday.

- I understood. Tell me, how many active bank cards do you have?

- At Sberbank?

- Yes.

- Three.

- We need information, so that I do not ask you for information on your cards, I do not ask for a code word, so that I can make sure that you are really the owner of these cards and you have been set up with two-factor protection. That is, do not worry, I do not ask you for anything compromising. Also, I also can’t disclose to you, even if you are a client of the bank, it is not in my competence.

“Why didn’t I divulge?”

- Information on your cards, for example. That is, the number, validity period, color and number sixteen public digits in no case do not give anyone. Also your passport details and identification number.

- So.

- Tell me, do you use credit funds from our bank?

- No.

- There are savings accounts, deposits in our bank?

- There are.

- This information is correct.

- Please tell me the approximate residual balance on your visa debit card account.

“Thousands and forty probably somewhere.”

- Thousand forty rubles, right?

- Yes.

- One second, I request verification of this information. Well ... yes, about forty thousand. In this case, I transfer the request to install two-factor protection for you. Tell me, your cards are with you, right?

- Yes of course.

- I fix this information. Tell me, maybe you made payment by bank transfer in such stores as Coin / Pyaterochka / Magnet / Crossroads in the last two weeks?

- Probably, not.

- I understood. I want you to be warned. Such scammers, such as skimmers, who installed readers on terminals or ATMs in these store chains, acted in these store chains a couple of months ago. It's like overlays, it turns out, either on the keyboard or on the screen.

- At the box office or what?

- No, not at the box office. Near the cash desks, readers were installed on ATMs, there is an invoice, I repeat, or a keyboard that looks in some other way. Or a patch, I forgot where the cards are inserted. If it does not look as usual, please move away from this ATM and notify security personnel in this store. Since they were noticed a couple of months ago, I repeat, scammers. Actually, therefore, this issue of financial claims was submitted.

- Yeah.

- At the moment, tell me, do you have any questions for me? Perhaps you did not understand something.

- No, thanks, you gave a lot of advice. I think they will come in handy.

- I understand, look, at this stage I submitted a request to install two-factor protection for you, expect a senior specialist to contact you to secure your accounts. Since it is within my competence, well, actually fill out a financial claim and transfer it to the bank security service. In order for the bank security service to search for third parties using these fraudulent devices. During tomorrow, most likely, you will receive an SMS notification, or a call from the security service directly that these people were found. You will need to come to the bank to sign a financial claim and to familiarize yourself with the list of people who visited your Sberbank online. You will need to take your passport with you, or an identification code, rights to verify your identity.

- Yeah.

- At this point, expect communication with our specialist, it was nice to communicate with you, all the best. Thank you, good bye.
