People of various age categories are exposed to this disease. The type of stones in this case differs depending on the age of the patient. Older people most often have uric acid formations, but nevertheless in most of all patients their mixed composition prevails. Such stones can form in the kidneys and in the bladder. They are able to reach large sizes if they are not detected in time. As for small stones, they are called "sand". Next, we will talk a little about proper nutrition during an illness, as well as about its treatment.

Kidney Stones - Diet

If there is a predisposition to this disease, in this case, you should definitely adhere to a diet that excludes foods with a high level of oxalic acid. These include green vegetables such as cabbage, spinach, sorrel, parsley, celery. It is also not recommended to eat nuts, currants, figs, legumes, chocolate, beets, as well as cheese, yogurt, dairy and dairy products. It is especially not recommended to use dairy products in combination with oxalic acid, as this provokes the appearance of kidney stones. The diet includes the complete absence of spicy food, which can increase the acidity of urine, which also entails the rapid development of the disease. That is why nutrition with kidney stones should be controlled and proper.

As for the products that should be eaten, these include the following: sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, pumpkin, fish, seafood, bananas, avocados. They have a sufficient amount of vitamin A and B6, which contributes to the good functioning of the urinary tract. It is recommended that you move more or occupy yourself with various physical activities. At the same time, you should also drink more water, which will help to make urine less concentrated. It is recommended that fasting once a week, while consuming a large amount of liquid. The diet for oxalate stones, as well as for others, requires a decrease in the intake of salt and carbohydrates. It should be remembered that nutrition for the disease should be prescribed by a doctor. But if there are kidney stones, the diet does not help; another, more radical treatment is required.

Stone treatment

If there is the presence of small stones (about 4-6 mm), it is best to use conservative therapy, since in most cases it is possible to leave alone. Naturally, such a conclusion can only be made by a doctor who will determine their location.

With stone sizes of 7 mm or more, remote lithotripsy is required, which also depends on the placement of the stone and its density. In addition, urethroscopy is used, which is performed under general or sinal anesthesia. Thus, the doctor breaks the stones into small fragments, then removes them with a special clamp. The smallest pieces depart with time on their own. Such an operation is quite effective, but still depends on the size of the formed stones.

If the above treatment methods do not help, then the patient is offered a laparoscopic operation, which is considered alternative in comparison with other methods of removing stones. Such an operation is performed under general anesthesia with the help of small punctures.

It should be noted that such treatment methods are prescribed only after passing all the necessary tests. And if the presence of kidney stones and urinary organs is confirmed, then appropriate treatment methods are prescribed for each patient individually. And remember that kidney stones, for which a diet is considered mandatory, are a very serious disease.
