Vegetarianism: Pros and Cons

Vegetarianism has recently gained incredible popularity. This happens primarily because many stars, public, famous people are actively promoting various types of vegetarianism. Many models and actresses, whose figures envy many girls, argue that their chiseled forms and perfect body are nothing more than the result of vegetarianism.

Of course, there is some truth in their words: weight loss and vegetarianism are two inseparably connected things, since refusal to consume animal food makes it possible to cleanse the body of toxins and wastes, which is one of the reasons for weight loss.

The term "vegetarianism" in Latin means "peppy, full of strength, strong, active," and this definition can be applied to the state of the body of those people who are committed to consuming exclusively plant foods.

In addition, the rejection of the use of animal food and the transition to a vegetable diet will not only help to lose those extra pounds, but also bring some more positive points. However, vegetarianism has pros and cons, therefore, rushing into it with your head, without understanding, is also not worth it.

To begin with, it is worth considering what types of vegetarianism exist.

So, there are vegetarians such as vegans (people who completely refuse all animal foods, including honey, milk, eggs), and vegetarians (those people who do not eat fish, dairy products and meat, but include honey and eggs in the diet ), lacto-vegetarians (eat dairy products, excluding fish, eggs, meat from the diet), raw foodists (the diet of these people consists of raw vegetables, fruits and nuts that are not cooked).

However, vegetarianism, the pros and cons of which, it would seem, lie on the surface, is actually not so simple, and therefore it is not worth it to simply sit on such a peculiar diet from plant foods.

The positive aspects of vegetarianism include the following:

  1. A balanced plant menu, providing the body with a large number of useful nutrients, can cleanse it of unnecessary toxins and toxins accumulated over a sufficiently long period.
  2. Many leading experts in various countries claim that eating only plant foods can act as a fairly effective prevention of serious diseases, in particular cancer.
  3. Eating exclusively herbal products helps to improve memory and affects well-being.
  4. If necessary, a vegetable diet will help to lose weight, and will do it once and for all.

However, do not forget that vegetarianism has pros and cons, and therefore you should familiarize yourself with the negative side. It is worth remembering that few organisms can function normally for a long time without the ingestion of animal proteins. In general, the harm of vegetarianism, its negative aspects can be identified as follows:

  1. It is difficult to adapt to a vegetable diet in case of a habit of eating fatty meat products. To do this, you will have to work on a change in consciousness, rebuilding it in such a way that it is possible to enjoy food of plant origin.
  2. A sharp transition to vegetarianism provokes a decrease in the amount of adrenaline in the blood, which leads to the appearance of fatigue and lethargy in humans. However, gradually the amount of adrenaline normalizes.
  3. The first time after the transition to plant food, a person is hungry, but this is a psychological moment, which also passes over time, and vegetarian food becomes enough to saturate.
  4. When drawing up the diet, you need to carefully monitor so that the body receives all the substances necessary for its normal life. Therefore, the preparation of the menu will need to be given special attention.

However, in the end, vegetarianism, the pros and cons of which are more likely to be tips, is suitable only for those who really decide to make their diet exclusively vegetable. Worth a try. You will almost immediately feel whether such a peculiar diet suits you.
