Job Offer in 1 Day: how we interviewed and gave feedback on the same day

The first such action we held in June 2019. The company had many tasks in Java, and therefore, Java developers were urgently needed. So the idea of ​​NX Job Offer in 1 Day came about.











We thought that it would be convenient for developers to come for an interview on the weekend, go through all the stages, get to know the company and get full feedback on the same day.

How it was?



β€œTo everyone who decided to participate, we sent a short questionnaire in which we asked for the length of service, knowledge of technology and a subjective assessment of our level. After that, they sent a test task. It was designed for middles that could complete the task in 3-5 hours, ”- Anastasia , Nexign Recruitment Specialist



The guys who successfully passed the test, we invited for an interview. An interview on the day of the event took 1.5 hours.

First, the team and the leader talked about their project and tasks, then the candidate talked about himself.

Testing technical skills: technical experts from the team into which we selected people, asked applicants to complete assignments, asked questions.

For the candidate, they conducted a tour of the office and talked about working conditions. At this time, the team made a decision.

Did you look for work when you found out about Job Offer in 1 Day?



No, but in the last place it was already becoming boring, and thoughts began to appear that you can look at other options. Since I was already at Nexign on the meetings, I received a newsletter with an invitation. I thought, why not go? It was interesting that they would immediately give feedback, because usually they do not talk about the results of the interview.



Did you do a test for a long time?



About 3-4 hours. At first he just completed it, then decided to complicate the decision.



Was it a pity to waste time on a test?



If the task is clear and tedious, then you do not want to implement it.



And if interesting, you can try to introduce a couple of chips that I read about recently. So I did in the test. Prior to this, I did not use this solution algorithm, but then I got a chance to try something new.



What are your impressions of the team?



Great! After I received the offer, I remembered that my friend also worked at Nexign a couple of years ago, wrote to her and asked about the company. She replied that the project was cool and the team was wonderful. The more my friend told me, the more I realized that she was talking specifically about the team with which I interviewed. A month later, a friend returned here. Now we are working together, and she is looking for bugs from me.



What would you say to people who learn about the event and decide whether to participate?



I think this is a cool opportunity to get acquainted with a large company, go through an interview and immediately get feedback, find out what is wrong. Plus, you spend much less time than classical interviews - everything goes on the weekend, you don’t need to take time off from your current job, you can calmly pack up and think.



How do you like the first months in the company?



I have been working for 4 months. All perfectly! The reality coincided with what I was told at the interview. My feelings have changed a little: I did not expect that there will be so much integration when several different teams work on the same product. But it is also very interesting and exciting.

Now we are looking for Java developers and QA engineers of the middle / senior level to work in St. Petersburg.



To participate, you need to fill out a questionnaire and do a test task until November 3 inclusive . We will invite everyone who can handle it to our office for an interview.



In one day, candidates will be interviewed by technical and HR specialists, get to know future colleagues, talk with team leader, learn about products and processes in the company. But most importantly, they will receive feedback throughout the day!
