It is boiled for the longest time - about 40-45 minutes.





How many calories in boiled rice is about the same as in dry rice. Here again, the color of the cereal will become a clue - the darker the rice, the fewer calories. So, in white long-grain rice - 330 kcal, and in wild - already about 285. Accordingly, dark varieties are best for diets or fasting days.





To preserve as many beneficial properties of rice as possible while cooking, it is advised to cook it in a double boiler. It is extremely simple: you need to rinse the rice, pour it into a special bowl for rice - it’s called that, and set a timer - depending on the type of rice. When the rice is cooked, you need to salt it and that's it - you can eat it. This cooking method is also convenient because rice does not need to be stirred, it does not burn and does not stick together.





In order not to experience disappointment with the product, you should carefully consider its choice - pay attention not only to the calorie content of rice, but also to color. Some manufacturers write on the packaging, for which purpose it is possible to use this type - of course, it is more convenient. After all, rice for kharcho soup will not look very good as a side dish for fish, for example, it is very boiled.
