Slurm Basic in Moscow. The first day. A volley from SocaCola, the microphone was taken away from the presenter and support is awaiting

The slurm is growing.

In St. Petersburg, there were 70 people in the hall on DevOps Slurm . Moscow parachuted 104 people into the conference hall of the Sevastopol Hotel. Another record that modestly tells us that we are going in the right direction. Settled and not in cramped conditions, and not in resentment.

Before the start of Slurm, the lecturer asked to turn off the sound on mobile phones.

He also asked me to open Cola jars in advance so that hissing would not interrupt the lecturer's voice. Everyone reacted quickly, clearly and obediently. The speaker clearly did not expect such an effect. There was a volley of hundreds of CocaCola jars - almost a cannon salvo from the side of a pirate-admin ship. Fireworks marking the beginning.

Three speakers gathered to prepare K8S - two experienced and one beginner.

Pavel Selivanov, probably, no longer need to be imagined. But still ... He is an administrator with 10 years of experience and Certified Kubernetes Administrator. He tormented Kubernetes in five individual projects. And in twenty participated. At the sight of him, Kubernetes runs away with a screech - because he understands that Paul will do something new with him, which Salvador Dali will envy. Pavel Selivanov already told how he practiced Kubernetes - no humanism.

Sergey Bondarev is also known to the participants of Slurm. A 20-year-old Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Administrator. On all Southbridge cube projects, including his own infrastructure, there are his fingerprints, like on the suitcase of the Russian radio operator Kat. He once performed a Hercules feat - in one company he raised a private Kubernetes in 5 days of work and trained IT support staff. Sergey forgot about configuring software and hardware more than other system administrators will find out in their entire lives.

And the new, very motivated, experienced and brisk Marcel Ibraev. 6-year-old Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Administrator. For an international company, it was deploying infrastructure from scratch - the company was crying and trying to escape, but it had no chance. Marcel deployed it and set up a full-fledged infrastructure in accordance with the previously agreed plans and wishes of the client, and conducted staff training. They still shout “K8S” at night.

On the first day, the participants received, like Pinocchio's alphabet, to remember all the "az", "beeches", "lead", "verb" so that random knowledge gaps would not interfere with further training.

While everyone remembered, experienced and cunning participants did not lose time and broke the Pentagon.

No less experienced colleagues, having glued the eyes of video cameras, under the guise of studying the K8S broke the US election system, the traffic light system and Salisbury spiers and molested the first lady of the United States on personal government communications.

Introduction to k8s technology smoothly turned into a conversation about Pod, ReplicaSet, Deployment, Service, Ingress, PV, PVC, ConfigMap, Secret. And then they printed it with practice.

Sergei Bondarev relaxedly watches as Pavel Selivanov blows off on stage for two.

Just made a short coffee break, how did the threads from Marcel Ibraev about the cluster structure, the main components, fault tolerance, and the k8s network rush.

And after a hearty dinner at the restaurant "Crimea", which we occupied a horde of 100+ people, the speakers took up Kubespray, tuning and tuning the Kubernetes cluster, together with the practice of course.

One participant liked the host’s microphone so much that he simply took it away in agitation.

Technical support did not leave participants for a minute. I advised Kubernetes when to buy Bitcoin, whether it is worth investing in Pavel Durov’s Gram, who is better than Spartak or CSKA and what is the answer to 42.

At Slurm, we have long formed a concept - from simple steps to complex. The intensity is so built that every day the complexity grows so that the brain gradually builds up speed and the transmission does not fly off. So on the second day everything will be even more, more interesting, even more useful.

PS And quite a bit Slurma:
