Play IT-Alias ​​with Badoo Engineers

IT-Alias ​​- a unique version of the classic desktop, a game for understanding and checking the technical vocabulary. It was made by Badoo engineers to play with participants in conferences and our meetings. And today we want to play IT-Alias ​​with Habr’s readers - and give a few weighty boxes with cards to those who will quickly and accurately name all the words we have made.

The idea of ​​an IT desktop came up with us a year ago. At first, we did not believe in it and began to test for ourselves. They threw 150 words on IT topics - these were the terms, tools and approaches that are used in Badoo and are known to the industry.



We played in the kitchen, in the meeting rooms and on Friday gatherings - without cards, just using the words recorded on the smartphone. And they quickly realized two things. First: the idea is super. Even observing from the side the players who are trying to describe words like “container”, “function” or “abstraction” without using root and direct translation turned out to be fun. Second: 150 words - catastrophically small. As a result, they collected 350 definitions and printed a large circulation.



The game was in great demand at the conferences that we supported. Many even joked that it was possible to conduct an interview on it in Badoo (alas, but not).



Today, on the eve of Programmer's Day, we are playing out some of the latest copies of the game. Hope you enjoy!

Conditions of the competition

In the comments to this post, Badoo engineers today have been puzzling all day for words from our Alias ​​cards. As in the original game, we do not use cognate words, decoding of abbreviations and translation into another language. But this time we will complicate the descriptions, so it was interesting to solve the words!



Your task is to be the first to guess the word and have time to write it down in a comment under a question. In total, we will guess 23 words - and, accordingly, 23 prizes. Questions from our engineers will appear in turn, until we play all the prizes.



A few important conditions:

1. Write the answers strictly in the comments to the question. Thus, in the comments on the first level should be only questions from us. If you accidentally posted the answer in the wrong thread, we are not to blame.
   
   
2. Due to the specifics of our industry, some of the words in the game are in English. We count the answer recorded both in Latin and Cyrillic. But it must exactly coincide with the hidden word.
   
   
3. One prize in one hand. If you have already won, let others play!
