What are useful dates?

Dried dates, with their rough, oblong hard bone, which we enjoyed with pleasure instead of sweets in childhood, are not only tasty, but also very useful. Their benefits are mentioned, in particular, in the most famous sources of world culture - the Bible and the Qur'an.

In places where date palm trees are grown (and these are mainly Arab countries), this fruit is considered almost “desert bread” - and this is indeed so, because dates are equated with cereals in their nutritional properties. Therefore, going on long trips through the Arabian deserts, travelers must always take with them a substantial supply of these high-calorie dried fruits in order to maintain endurance and resist various infections.

So still, what are the useful dates and what is their composition?

If you decompose the dates into components, it turns out that it contains such important trace elements and substances as iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, 23 types of amino acids, mineral salts, proteins, as well as vitamins of groups A and B and much more - here’s the answer to the question of what dates are useful for. But that is not all.

Dates, the composition of which is so rich in minerals, contain, among others, such a rare element as selenium, which, like potassium, has a beneficial effect on the heart muscle, and therefore dates are recommended for use by people suffering from heart diseases, as well as prevention of these ailments. In addition, dates absolutely do not contain cholesterol.

What are more useful dates yet? It is proved that their dietary fiber is able to reduce the risk of getting cancer, and the regular use of these delicious date palm fruits (of which there are a lot of species) generally strengthens the body's immune system.

It should be noted that dates in dried and dried form are a very sweet product, in terms of sugar content they occupy, perhaps, the first place among all dried fruits. But the fact is that basically these sugars are presented in the form of glucose and fructose, the use of which, in comparison with sucrose, does not have such negative consequences for the body. That is why dates are often recommended for diabetes as a substitute for beet and cane sugar (without abusing, of course, this high-calorie dried fruit). It’s enough to eat quite a bit of this valuable product and you will feel fine. After all, this is a treat, in addition - an excellent antidepressant for diabetics. And is this not another answer to the question: “What is the use of a date?”

If you suffer from chest diseases - and here the date will help you, it is able to calm the cough and removes sputum.

These dried fruits are very beneficial for both women and men. In particular, the use of dates helps to start the production of breast milk in nursing mothers, if there are problems with this, and during pregnancy, when many women suffer from anemia, dates will come in handy.

Men, using them, will significantly increase their masculine power.

The only minus of the dates is that they are extremely sticky, and if stored improperly, dust and bacteria can accumulate on their surface, so it is very important not to keep them outdoors for a long time, and remember to wash before eating.

According to the assurances of nutritionists, dates go well with milk - a glass of milk and only one (!) Date per day are already able to satisfy a person’s need for the minimum amount of nutrients.

Introduce dates into your diet - this is really a very useful product! However, do not forget that it is extremely high-calorie. Therefore, those who are afraid to get better and monitor their weight, remembering how useful dates are, you still should not lean on them much. Limit yourself to a few fruits a day, and everything will be fine!
