In this article, you will see the 15 best link tools in 2019. In fact, I used these tools to get backlinks from sites like Entrepreneur.com.
And Forbes.
Now it's time to reveal my favorite tools for building, storing links and advocacy.
15 best tools for creating and storing links
1. Linkbox
The most convenient service for managing and storing backlinks, it’s a little harder to live without. With the help of this tool, I realized how much the difference is between how link analyzers, competitors and search engines see the site.
Linkbox is an online service for storing, indexing and managing link companies.
Key benefits :
- Management of reference companies;
- Monitoring the presence of reference mass;
- Checking indexing links;
- Google quick indexing function;
- There is a tier1 and tier2 analysis function
Prices: from $ 0.001 per action on one link.
My favorite feature is “mass competitor analysis” (I’ll write a case later on how I do it)
This service helps to work with reference companies, with all the services described below.
Linkbox is one of my favorite link storage tools. It can save you a lot of time and energy when you need to check whether the resources on which the link was posted work, and also helps to quickly index a large number of pages.
2. Ahrefs
The world's largest backlink index.
Ahrefs is a link building software package designed for SEO professionals.
It also has many features that have nothing to do with link building, such as:
- A very reliable keyword research tool
- "Content Browser" for finding popular content
- Rank tracking
- SEO Website Technical Audit
Despite the fact that Ahrefs has MANY cool features, non-technical (like me) is easy to use.
Prices: $ 99- $ 999 per month
My favorite feature is Link Intersect
This cool feature allows you to see which sites link to your competitors ... but not to you. For example, here is a report that I run at least once a month:
It shows me who contacts Arefs and Moz ... but not me.
Why is this useful?
If someone refers to your competitors, this does not necessarily mean that they will refer to you . (In the end, they may have a relationship with the person who runs this site) But if someone links to TWO of your competitors, you are much more likely to get a link from this site.
If you can only invest in one link building tool, that should be Ahrefs.
3. Guest Post Tracker
Find guest accommodation and manage companies.
Let's face it: A guest blog can be a HUGE pain.
Guest Post Tracker is a combination of more than 1,500 sites that host guest posts ... and software to help you manage your companies.
As a person who has published over 200 guest posts, I can tell you that such a tool can make the process a lot easier.
Price: $ 99 one-time fee
My favorite feature: Categories
Tired of looking for a "topic" + "write to us"? Then you will enjoy the fact that you can search for sites in Guest Post Tracker by category ... including sports, fashion, finance, food and more.
If you publish a lot of guest posts, I recommend giving this service a chance. 99 bucks, it's a lot cheaper than most other SEO tools.
And it can help you find guest post features that you couldn't find in any other way.
4. GroupHigh
Find bloggers for outreach companies.
If you want people to link to your site, you need to master the work with bloggers. And what is the first step of any information company?
Find bloggers in your industry!
Well, GroupHigh claims to have the largest blog search engine in the world. And after testing this week, I have to agree. I searched the “baking blogs” and found over 33,581 relevant blogs:
So this is the big plus of GroupHigh: it makes it easy to find bloggers. (Be it for promoting content ... or a direct link) It also has a built-in advocacy platform that you can use to send emails:
Prices: $ 179-499 per month
My favorite feature: Metric
Of course, it's nice to have a huge list of blogs in your niche. But how do you know which bloggers are worth contacting? This is where GroupHigh metrics come into play.
You can sort and filter bloggers by domain authority, social media subscribers, audience size ... and much more.
It is very cool.
Although GroupHigh is not intended for link building, I know many SEO agencies that use it to run their link building companies. And I understand why: he has a gigantic blog database ... and the built-in Blogger CRM, which you can use to send link-building emails.
5. BuzzStream
Scale your link building companies.
BuzzStream is an outreach platform that helps you stay organized through email.
In other words: Instead of spreadsheets and random Gmail mailboxes, you can use BuzzStream to track conversations and effectively manage companies in several projects. (Which makes it especially useful for teams and agencies)
Here's how it works: First, you either find sites using the built-in Discovery tool ...
... or upload a list of sites in your niche that you want to access:
Then use BuzzStream to find their contact information.
(I use the convenient Buzzmarker Chrome extension to find contact information here. Perhaps this is the best feature of the entire platform).
Finally, connect your email to BuzzStream. This allows you to communicate with people inside the platform.
You can even delve into the reports to see the status of each email you sent (and tracking):
Prices: $ 24- $ 999 per month
My favorite feature: custom fields
I view custom fields as BuzzStream bread and butter. They make it easy to organize and set up companies in any way convenient for you.
For example: One of the very few required custom fields is Relationship Stage. This basically means: "what is our current status with this person?" Here is an example of some of the steps that I use.
Short description:
- Not Yet Researched - we saved the prospect as qualified, but did not prepare it for coverage (that is, we found contact information, wrote an email, etc.).
- Prepped for Outreach - especially for those whom we prepared for outreach, but we have the URL of the contact form (and not their actual email address). We save them here until the appropriate time of the day and week for submitting the form (since this cannot be automated / queued in the future).
- Not Started are the people we prepared for distribution, and we have email in line for the future. When it is sent, the potential customer automatically switches to "Attempting to Reach".
- Attempting to Reach - we sent at least 1 email, but did not receive a response.
- In Talks - we got an answer, but we haven't reached a conclusion yet.
- Waiting for Result - we sent a link / message / offer for verification, but did not reach a conclusion.
- Agreed to Link - they verbally agreed to do what we ask, i.e. post our links, accept our publications, write about our client’s assets, etc.
- Link Accepted - link active! Wiiiiii.
- Rejected - they rejected our request.
There are others, but the above makes up the vast majority. But what’s very cool: you can customize all of the above.
For example, you can create a new set of fields for a guest publication or marketing influence company.
So: why are custom fields so useful?
- Filtering / dividing - if you are looking for a specific segment of potential customers, filtering by this custom field allows us to easily find them. Thus, this separation of organization helps to manage processes.
- Template fields - the value of the custom field can be used in the coverage template
- Data analysis - you can add data points in the form of a field (for example, Manage a site’s domain or regardless of whether they are related to a competitor)
BuzzStream has many other interesting features.
BuzzStream is one of my favorite link building tools. If you talk a lot or work with a team of link developers, this can save you a ton of time and energy.
6. Disavow.it
Create a shutdown file in seconds.
Disavow.it makes it easy to create a disavow file.
Without such a tool, you need to manually create a file to upload to the Google search console ... and I hope you formatted it correctly :)
Price: Free
My favorite feature: “Apply Disavow File”
This feature is useful if you have a list of URLs from which you want to remove links ... and a disconnect file, ready to go.
He compares the two lists. And it lets you know which URLs in your list will (and will not) be disavowed.
The entire process of disavocation can be a huge pain (I know from experience. I have helped several clients recover from manual fines). Disavow.it makes one step in this process a little easier. Also useful if you disavow shadow links in advance.
7. JustReachOut
Find and introduce reporters and journalists.
As you probably know, PR is one of the most powerful link building strategies on the planet. If done correctly, PR can provide you with high-quality links from huge reputable news sites (such as Forbes, New York Times and Tech Crunch).
Problem:
Most advocacy platforms are designed to help you find bloggers ... not journalists. This is where JustReachOut comes to the rescue.
He has a significant (and modern) database of journalists ...
... and CRM, which you can use to manage your work on the platform.
Prices: $ 696- $ 2497 per month
My favorite feature: search for sources
JustOutReach allows you to search for source queries from HARO, ProfNet, and Twitter.
That way, you can introduce journalists who really WANT to introduce you in their story.
If you want to receive links and references in the press, JustReachOut can help. It is very simple. And it's relatively inexpensive, considering how many cool features it has.
8. Moz Link Explorer
Reverse engineering your competitor's backlinks.
Moz Link Explorer is the flagship feature of Moz Pro.
And it replaces the old Open Site Explorer.
So: how does Moz Link Explorer work?
First you insert a competitor’s domain (or specific URL) into it:
And you can see all of their backlinks:
You also get link metrics, for example, Managing site domains:
Prices: $ 99- $ 999 per month
My favorite feature: text anchor analysis
Quickly see the most common anchor text in your site’s backlink profile:
Why is this useful?
Well, if you see a lot of anchor text with an exact match, this is usually a sign of creating a link in Black Hat)
Moz Link Explorer is the second best link analysis tool on the market. Unfortunately, it is still REMOTE and second after Ahrefs (Ahrefs link database is much larger than Moz's Link Explorer). However, the Moz subscription comes with several other tools (such as a grader on the page) that can justify a monthly investment.
9. NinjaOutreach
Makes coverage (relatively) easy.
NinjaOutreach is similar to other coverage tools I've already covered, such as BuzzStream and GroupHigh.
So what makes NinjaOutreach different?
Firstly, it is a huge database of influential people (in millions). Secondly, it is more SEO-oriented than other information platforms. Yes, you can sort results by social metrics (for example, Facebook fans or Instagram followers). But since NinjaOutreach is intended for link builders, you can also get granularity using SEO metrics. In particular, you can sort the results by domain authorization, page authorization and the number of backlinks.
Prices: $ 69- $ 599 / month
My favorite feature: ready-made templates
NinjaOutreach comes complete with templates for various types of link building companies ... including creating broken links, promoting infographics, and more.
Of course, you must personalize these templates before submitting them. But at least you have a starting point compared to writing emails from scratch.
NinjaOutreach is a powerful link builder. I first tried this tool 3 years ago, and since then it has come a long way . It has a much cleaner interface and 5 times more features. Although NinjaOutreach is not very cheap, it is a good value considering the number of useful features that you access.
10. Link Prospector
Search for links manually.
If you’re tired of manually searching for resource pages on Google, you'll love Link Prospector. This is because hundreds of ready-made search queries are built into it.
So all you have to do is enter a few keywords related to your site, and it will take care of the rest.
Prices: $ 47- $ 497 per month
My favorite feature: target link rating
Most link building tools give out 1001 link "features", but not Link Prospector. It analyzes every prospect on your list for “LTS” ... which websites pop up the most related to yours:
This way you can focus on the prospects that may be related to you.
Link Prospector features are designed exclusively for regular link developers and SEO agencies. In other words: this is not for beginners. But if you are a professional in creating links, this tool can speed up the search for links from 2 to 10 times.
11. BuzzSumo
Discover influential bloggers in your niche.
Although BuzzSumo is intended for content marketing, many SEO professionals also use it.
And here's how: First, BuzzSumo makes it easy to create content that people want to link to.
Secondly, you can use BuzzSumo to search for influential people in your niche who recently shared your competitor’s content:
(Which means that they are likely to share your materials ... and give a link to them)
Prices: $ 79- $ 239 per month.
My favorite feature: Brand Mentions
Brand mentions tell you when someone mentions your brand in a blog post ... but doesn’t link to your site.
Here is an example:
In my experience, a friendly email “could you provide a link to us?” Can turn these unrelated brand mentions into legal backlinks:
You can also use BuzzSumo to find new links to your site:
(I found that BuzzSumo finds blog links faster than any other tool)
Of course, BuzzSumo is not designed to build links. But, as you just saw, you can still use it to get white links to your site.
12. Cognitive SEO
Easy to identify unnatural links.
CognitiveSEO is a SEO software package focused on backlink analysis. (Same as Moz Link Explorer and Ahrefs)
So: what makes it unique? CognitiveSEO has some interesting features that most other tools do not.
For example: "Detecting unnatural links."
This allows you to find out if your site (or the site from which you want to get the link) has a shadow link profile:
Otherwise, it is very similar to Ahrefs and Moz.
Prices: $ 99- $ 499 per month
My favorite feature: domain profile influence
Allows you to find out what percentage of your links come from reputable sites ... and what is from roaming blogs.
It’s normal when there are both. But if your link profile does not have active users, it may be time to get backlinks from larger sites.
Cognitiveseo is not as good as Moz or Arefs. However, its cost is only $ 99 / month. Plus, there is a free trial. So if you have a limited budget and want to conduct professional backlink analysis, cognitiveSEO is probably your best bet.
13. Pitchbox
Use workflows that guide you through the reach process.
Pitchbox is an outreach platform built to improve efficiency and is easy to use.
She tries to be a universal solution, starting with opening prospects and ending with reports on relationships and everything in between. (In my opinion, this is largely successful) Here's how Pitchbox works:
After you sign up, the first thing you do is create a project.
Then you select the type of company you want to run.
As you can see, there are many ready-made companies to choose from.
- Blogger Outreach - you enter keywords, they give you a list of blog articles.
- Advanced Search - you enter search phrases, they clear their Google results.
- Product Review - you enter keywords, they give you a list of blogs in which (in their opinion) review articles have been published in the past.
- “Hot Off The Press” - you enter keywords, they give you a list of blog articles published in the last 48 hours.
- Competitor Backlinks - you enter the domains of competitors, they give you a list of links to them.
- Link Removal (by default OR using LRT) - does not search; You must provide a list of URLs. But very effective for removing links.
What I like about Pitchbox is that the workflow is built-in. Therefore, as soon as you start a company, it will guide you through all stages (from finding high-quality potential customers to collecting contact information and actually sending emails).
Speaking of outreach emails, this is one area where Pitchbox really does shine. You can create personalized fields that will make your emails personalized (without spending a lot of time setting up each of them).
You can also have multiple people work on one email (for example, one person writes a letter and another comes in to personalize it).
Finally, you can set up automatic email sequences to automatically track people who don’t respond to your first email:
Prices: $ 195- $ 395 per month
My favorite feature: metric filters
They help to filter the results according to certain quality indicators.
In particular, you can filter by Majestic Citation Flow and Trust Flow, Link Research Tools Power * Trust and Moz metrics (page authorization and domain authorization).
You can set your own filters or use one of their ready-made or “good” filters.
Pitchbox combines “ease of use” and “powerful features” in one link building software. This is not the cheapest tool. But if you talk a lot or work with a team of link developers, I highly recommend Pitchbox.
