Results of the Advantech Partner Conference in Moscow





On September 25, Advantech held a partnership conference “ Digital Transformation Using the Industrial Internet of Things ”, dedicated to the joint development of solutions in the field of the Internet of Things, industrial automation, intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, energy.



We at Advantech are confident that the development of sophisticated technological solutions is possible only with the joint participation of representatives from different industries. Joint dialogue, cooperation and understanding of the needs of key players will allow us to create truly relevant and thought-out solutions. To do this, we organized a conference at which, in the format of the forum, we discussed current problems, tasks and development plans. The conference was attended by representatives of such companies as Intel, Nvidia, Dahua Technology , as well as Russian companies - ICL, Zyfra, SmartCardService, Force Distribution, representatives of domestic universities and specialized specialists.



In the article, we will summarize the results of the conference, talk about the participants and topics discussed, as well as the results of the student contest of AIoT Developer InnoWorks projects.



Prospects and features of the development of Advantech in Russia



Vincent Chang, Advantech’s general manager in Russia, spoke about the current state of affairs at Advantech in Russia, about the peculiarities of doing business in Russia, and about products designed specifically for the Russian market.



Currently, Advantech is preparing to release one of its popular models in Russia, the EKI-2525I switch, and plans to further develop local production for the domestic market.







By 2021, Advantech plans to launch equipment service and repair centers, a Russian-speaking technical support and a specialist training center in Russia.







Advantech and SPbSUT International Cooperation Program



Zarubin Anton Aleksandrovich - Vice-Rector for Informatization, St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruyevich presented a report on cooperation with Advantech within the framework of the AIoT Developer InnoWorks program and the opening of a laboratory of the industrial Internet of things at the university.



Since 2020, the university plans to introduce in the curriculum the undergraduate and graduate programs in developing solutions based on a laboratory created in partnership with Advantech.







Accelerating Industrial AI in the Internet of Things



David Ren, Director of Advantech's Industrial Computer Development Department, spoke about the platforms the company offers for launching machine learning systems, neural networks, and machine vision. Advantech offers embedded platforms with powerful GPUs for Edge Computing solutions.







WISE-PaaS: Enhancing Digital Transformation



Arthur Nigamatullin - Advantech Russia engineer, spoke about the Advantech WISE-PaaS cloud platform, its architecture and applications. The platform allows you to integrate both Advantech products and third-party solutions, including well-established industry standards for protocols and software.

In the format of panel discussions, company representatives were able to discuss current tasks and problems in their industries, made proposals for cooperation and shared their experiences. All conference attendees in an open microphone format could participate in the discussion.

Advantech AIoT InnoWorks Student Program



As part of the AIoT Developer InnoWorks program, we work with universities to support the training of specialists in industrial automation, smart manufacturing, energy, and healthcare. The program is designed to bring together the best students and developers around the world in the field of IoT and, in addition to Russia, is held in Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and Taiwan.



To participate in the project competition, 20 teams of 5 people were selected from various universities in Russia, whose task was to develop a technological project based on the Advantech WISE-PaaS platform. Finalists of the competition took part in the September conference in Moscow, where they presented their projects to specialists and company executives.







Meteolab Project



The winner of the InnoWorks contest was the Meteolab project, which the guys themselves described in our blog in a separate article: Monitoring air quality in a cottage village.



The jury praised the project for its relevance and relevance in modern conditions, when air pollution is becoming an increasing problem. The potential of the LoRaWAN wireless protocol and the Advantech WISE-6610 gateway are well revealed in the project.

Summary



We are pleased that the conference attracted a large number of specialists from various industries. The discussions turned out to be lively and informative, manufacturers were able to share their experience and listen to suggestions from colleagues and developers who are just exploring new products and planning to implement.



Conference attendees could familiarize themselves with the solutions in the field of the Internet of Things in the demo zone, where demo stands were installed with solutions of partners who use Advantech products in their work.
