New from Pacsafe for the city: Intasafe X and Intasafe X Slim backpacks

How protection works

We have already talked about the brand Pacsafe. In short, this company was founded in 1998 by avid travelers Rob Shlipper and Magnus Maglashan. Since then, its designers have created backpacks and bags for travelers (and not only) with protection from pickpockets.







Protection is dictated by Pacsafe designers' own experience and successfully tested in real situations. In the case of Intasafe X and Intasafe X Slim, it consists of three parts.



The first is a zipper lock for the main compartment. The tongues of the two runners are inserted one into the other and strung on the lock rod, the lock latches. The thief will not open the backpack quietly and quickly: you must first understand the design of the castle. Pickpockets are looking for the easiest way to steal something. Therefore, they will most likely not contact Pacsafe Castle. The lightning is reliable, double, does not pierce the handle.







The second is a buckle on the right shoulder strap. The strap is wrapped around a fixed object: around a table leg in a cafe, a fence post on a street or a tree. The buckle is securely fastened by turning the inconspicuous pin, now the backpack can not be moved. Steel straps are sewn into the straps, they can not be cut.







The third is an inner pocket with shielding. The pocket protects plastic cards and RFID tags from potential hacking. Such attacks are still rare, but Pacsafe is preparing a sled in the summer.







Typically, Pacsafe backpacks are reinforced with steel mesh. Since Intasafe X and Intasafe X Slim are urban backpacks, designers have chosen the easy option: thick polyester fabric with cut protection. It serves for a long time and is not wiped.

Pacsafe Intasafe X

This is the most spacious of the two backpacks. The volume of Intasafe X is 27 liters, with dimensions of 47.5 x 29 x 16 cm and a weight of 830 grams. It is suitable as hand luggage on flights of most airlines (we remind you: check the restrictions of a particular carrier in advance).







Outside, the backpack has three pockets. One, with a hidden zipper in front. It is intended for small things that need quick access (but not for a wallet). Two pockets for bottles and umbrellas are hidden on the sides. Adjustable pockets with snap buttons.







The compartment inside is one, large. On the back there is a dense pocket with a soft lining for a 15-inch laptop. On top is another, for a 10-inch tablet, and a separate pocket for an external battery. Directly above it is a hole for the wire. Thread the wire, connect it inside to the power bank, and now you can charge the smartphone without removing the battery from the backpack.







On the second half of the backpack, an “organizer” of pockets flaunts. This is a wide pocket with a zipper with a carabiner for keys inside, open pockets for cards, wires or flat gadgets, holders for pens. The Velcro pocket is the same with shielding.







Intasafe X is hung on the handle of the suitcase, for this there is an elastic band on its back. The back is soft.

Pacsafe Intasafe X Slim

The compact Intasafe X Slim has a slim profile - 43 x 29 x 11 cm. It is also suitable for hand luggage, and also fits under an airplane seat. The weight of the backpack is 510 grams, the volume is 20 liters.







Outside, the backpack has no pockets. This means that there is no temptation to leave an important thing for a pickpocket, and there is no chance for the latter to pull anything out.







Inside, there is almost the same organization as Intasafe X. On the back there are dense soft pockets for a 15-inch laptop and a 10-inch tablet. There is also a pocket for a power bank and a hole for a wire to charge gadgets on the go.







The "Organizer" on the opposite side is arranged a little differently. There is no large zipped pocket, and the key carabiner is located right inside the main compartment of the backpack. But the Velcro pocket with shielding and pockets for small things are in place.
