We want to provide you with the publication of analytics on the state of the Baltic states (domain zone of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia) based on the results of our product. Data is valid on August 21, 2019.

Last month we published statistics on Kaznet .

Estonia:

Lithuania:

Latvia:

1. In total, more than 200,000 websites were checked, most of which were from Lithuania, where there are 95,316 existing websites as of August 21, 2019.

2. Our scanning module in Webtotem detected 458 infected websites in Lithuania, slightly less in Latvia - 297 with 21 faces * in each country. In Estonia, the system detected 191 infected web sites and 15 faces. A site is considered infected if it falls into one of the list of databases (Virustotal, Spamhaus, PhishTank, etc.)

3. Two-thirds of the sites in the region are self-written. Wordpress remains the leading CMS for building websites. It occupies more than 80% of the market, which shows that Joomla is rapidly losing popularity.

4. Apache is the most popular web server with a market share of 83% in Lithuania, 56% in Latvia and 84% in Estonia.

5. Only 34% of the available sites in the Baltic States have a valid SSL certificate. Most websites operate with invalid or expired SSL certificates.

6. 94% of web resources in the Estonian domain zone use the PHP programming language

The domain list data is taken from the Domains-Index service. The analysis was prepared by the WebTotem service.

PS We are preparing the next report for Poland (more than 1 million websites).
