What's new

This summer in our blog on Habré we talked about the curriculum of ITMO University and shared the experience of the career growth of their graduates. These materials have contributed to the course of this year’s admission campaign - more than four thousand people have applied to the magistracy, and more than twelve thousand have gathered to start their studies in undergraduate and specialty courses.

This year more graduates from other universities (not only from ITMO University) from different cities of Russia entered our magistracy, and for the initial stages of the educational process (undergraduate) we noted an increase in the average exam score to 92.7. This is 2.5 points more than last year. But many - winners of olympiads and contests (like our ITMO.STARS ) - managed to circumvent the need for passing entrance examinations, and more than seven hundred people will receive increased scholarships from the first day of training.

Gennady, one of our illustrious graduate students and a two-time winner of ICPC , has once again become the best of several tens of thousands of participants in the Google Code Jam. Along with him , graduates of ITMO University Boris Minaev and Evgeny Kap reached the final .

The study, based on which this rating was compiled, involved more than four thousand universities located in different parts of the world. The methodology took into account scientific publications in journals indexed by Web of Science. For ranking universities, scientific articles were tied to fifty-four subject areas: from "Electronics and Electrical Engineering" to "Automation and Control". We managed to improve our positions in several of the presented areas of knowledge and maintain high results in a number of others. The United States and China remain the leaders among countries whose universities occupy the top in most subject areas.
