ImageRUNNER C3025 series: color MFPs for the price of black and white
The new series of color laser MFP imageRUNNER C3025 may be of interest to users of the SO / HO segment (small office / home office), both because of its impressive functionality with compact dimensions, and because of the price range. Their cost is comparable to the cost of monochrome analogs. By the way, this is our first compact platform where software and hardware developments are combined to ensure data protection during printing. The series is represented by two models C3025 and C3025i. These devices perform a standard set of operations for office multifunction devices in both color and black and white modes:

Both models have the same performance in all respects. The difference between them is only in the configuration. We can say that the C3025 is the basic version and the C3025i is the more advanced one. The C3025i model includes a two-sided automatic document filing for scanning (RADF - Reversible automatic document feeder). Optionally, RADF can also be placed on the C3025 model, where, in the base configuration, a flatbed scanner cover is installed instead of the feeder. Scanning speed corresponds to the performance of the feeder and is 55 sheets per minute. Scan resolution is possible in two modes: 204x196 and 300x300 dpi. The maximum media format for scanning is A3.
There are both PUSH and PULL scanning.
The MF Scan Utility is preinstalled with the scanning software. With its help, scan results can be saved in the following formats: TIFF, JPEG and PDF (both compressed and searchable, which is very convenient when working with text documents). Depending on the settings, scanned files can be sent to e-mail, to a network folder, to the cloud, or to a usb carrier. In addition, you can scan to a network folder, USB drive, mail and other resources from the device itself without using a computer and special software.
The automatic document feeder allows for two-way scanning of documents. In the C3025i model, this feature is included in the basic configuration, and in the C3025 model - optional. Such modularity will be of interest to small enterprises, when at the initial stage the basic configuration of the imageRUNNER C3025 is acquired, and then, as necessary, it is equipped with additional options and functions up to the full version of the C3025i.
When determining the size of the workplace for placement of the multifunction printer, it is necessary to take into account the presence of an automatic feeder. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account not the overall dimensions of the device in the projection on the horizontal plane, but data on the required area for the normal functioning of the MFP. For the basic configuration C3025 requires 978 x 1088 mm, and for the maximum configuration of the C3025i you need 1110 x 1117 mm.
The copying speed, in both monochrome and color mode, is 25 ppm for the A4 format and 15 ppm for the A3. The device provides a good resolution when copying: up to 600 x 600 dpi. The imageRUNNER C3025 and C3025i devices have built-in scaling function with the most demanded coefficients: 25, 50, 71, 100, 141, 200 and 400%. It is also possible to zoom in manual mode from 25% to 400% in 1% increments. Settings allow you to perform up to 999 copies in one cycle.
Print
The device is equipped with a number of useful features for printing. They are designed for both convenience and data security.
In the basic version, the C3025 and C3025i are equipped with a standard tray consisting of two 550-sheet cassettes and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray for paper with a density of 80 g / m2. Optionally, you can purchase an additional tray on two 550-sheet cassettes or a pedestal without the paper feeding function.
The imageRUNNER C3025 / i multifunction printer works with paper up to SRA3 inclusive and with a density of 52 to 300 g / m2. The abbreviation SRA3 stands for “Extra raw format A3”. It is used when cutting paper is done after printing in order to get ready-made A3 prints at the output.

- Sources of files for printing
File transfer to print is organized through a wired and wireless network. Using Wi-Fi, you can connect mobile devices directly to the MFP without connecting to the company's local network. To do this, use the Canon PRINT Business application that works with Android and IOS devices. The pre-installed MFP software is compatible with AirPrint (Mac OS X or iOS) and Mopria (Android and Windows 10 Mobile) technologies. Also provides printing from usb carriers.
- Service
Following the principle of "time is money", our developers have taken care to reduce the downtime for maintenance of the MFP. In the imageRUNNER C3025 / i, diagnostics can occur in the background without interfering with the basic operation of the device. Remote equipment diagnostics and toner consumption control allow real-time monitoring of the current status of the device. Advance notice of the need for routine maintenance makes it possible to schedule them during the minimum load on the MFP.
The device has good maintainability. Replacement of some nodes is permissible to be performed by users independently, without resorting to the help of a specialist and without loss of warranty. The imageRUNNER C3025 / i device has a convenient GDLS function, which is responsible for updating the firmware and keeping it up to date.
- Security
In the multifunctional imageRUNNER C3025 / i, a multistage security system is implemented, both in hardware and software. The first barrier is found already at the start. To start the device, you must enter the PIN. The next step is optionally authorizing a user with an access card in the presence of a card reader. To do this, the Universal Login Manager (ULM) is installed on the imageRUNNER C3025 / i multifunction printer. By the way, it was on these models that we first applied ULM.
The user card provides an opportunity not only to differentiate the level of access to the various functions of the device, but also to keep statistics on the use of the MFP. Also with the help of the ULM mono application organize a controlled secure printing. This helps optimize printing costs, reducing the likelihood of inappropriate use of the printer and personalizing responsibility for printed documents.
The ratio of the total cost of printing can be displayed as the ratio of all printed sheets to the target. If employees use the printer for personal purposes, then the cost of targeted prints may eventually increase many times over. A more versatile solution is the uniFLOW system, which integrates well with the imageRUNNER C3025 / i multifunctional printer. One of the functions of this system is to collect statistics on the use of the printer by each user or group. Also, if several printers are logged in, when printing a print job, uniFLOW displays the cost of printing on each of the printers. - Finishing processing of printed documents
Optionally, the C3025 and C3025i are equipped with an internal 600-sheet finisher that can perform three functions. It is used as a stapler with the grouping or disassembly of printed sheets of a document by copy or by page order. Stapling takes place in a corner, in two places or on request. It is possible to connect sheets without clips (eco-steaming).
Another option for an internal 200-sheet finisher can work as a sorter, grouping and separating printed pages without stapling. In cases where various functions are often used in the process of work, for example, copying, printing, fax, the separation of paper flows is necessary. To do this, use the finisher as an additional output tray.
