Most recently, I did a large comparative test thermos . It interested many, and some ladies thanked for a great gift idea for the New Year. Realizing that the ladies will also be waiting for gifts, I did this comparative test of weights. That's just need to give them with extreme caution. After all, every girl has scales, but far from everyone is ready to voice the results of weighing. And such a gift can offend. Therefore, I made a review of SMART scales, which “do not just let you know the weight, but monitor the health of the whole family.” It is with these words that the gift must be given.

Perhaps we need to tell you how smart scales differ from ordinary ones. To begin with, even ordinary scales have learned, in addition to weight, to determine the mass of parameters, be it body mass index or bone mass. In total, the parameters can be from 2 to 12. Smart scales add to this statistics, synchronization with a smartphone or with a personal profile in the cloud. In addition, the fitness program can make recommendations for stress and nutrition, depending on the intended purpose: drying, gaining muscle mass, losing weight. That is, modern smart scales are not just a gadget that will show some numbers, but already practically a personal trainer who will monitor a person’s condition. And so he can track the status of all family members. Let us see if all smart scales can become your personal trainer?
What parameters track modern scales?
Based on these indicators, for example, the number of daily calories consumed can be calculated, depending on the task.
It is noteworthy that the profiles can be from 4 to 16, that is, the whole family can be tracked. Sometimes even a very big family.
Testing method
To add to the review of science, we will work out a measurement technique that anyone can repeat to compare the results. Or add your own results of weights that did not fall into the comparative test.
One of the most important indicators is the accuracy of the readings. But since precision sensors are used in the scales, the error of indication varies around 100 grams. However, we carried out three different measurements at the same place to ensure the same result. It looked like this: got up on the scales, got testimony, got off the scales and waited for them to turn off. Then the procedure was repeated twice more.
The second important parameter is the work out of the box. It turned out that some scales show the results of weighing in pounds or Chinese jines, and this parameter can be changed only through the application on the smartphone. It turns out that before starting work it is still necessary to prepare the scales.
The third parameter is design. Yet the scales are not just a device for many ladies, this is a “filthy idol” and it should at least not spoil the mood with its appearance, since the numbers sometimes show not the most pleasant ones.

Perhaps this is the most useless smart scales in this review. The fact is that the scales show only weight on their screen. All other parameters can only be transferred to a Polar fitness bracelet, and from there they are downloaded to a profile on the Internet. That is, it will not be possible to directly receive data, although the Bluetooth module is present in the scales. Thus, one can only judge about ergonomics and design, but not about functionality. Scales are available in white or black. They do not look catchy, at C grade. The monochrome display is dark and without illumination - at dusk or at night the numbers can not be seen. For this amount you can buy good scales with a fitness tracker. Rubber feet are close to the corners, so the scales are very resistant. The rest is a complete disappointment.

Different Redmond equipment is rather a standard equipment with a wireless module. In this case, the manufacturer went a little further and shows the measurement of 6 parameters at once: weight, BMI, fat, muscle, bone mass and the amount of water in the body. In comparison with other models in the test, the scales look somewhat simple and without frills. But the LCD display with large numbers and backlight, so you can see the result of weighing, even in complete darkness. When connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, you can get advanced measurements of all indicators, as well as see the weight graph. In addition, you can set a goal that can motivate work on yourself. Scales do not allow you to create and monitor several profiles, but take into account the physical activity of one user: with the settings you can choose an athletic or standard physique. Surprisingly, for the same money, competitors offer much more functional scales.

Big, beautiful and some complicated ones - this is exactly the idea that arises when you start working with these weights. But let's start in order. Glass top and plastic bottom, resembling a porous chocolate. Moreover, there is a possibility to choose the color of the scales: black or white. Out of the box, scales can show weight, but if they are synchronized with the network, then the ability to observe, in addition to weight, the percentage ratio of muscles, BMI and the percentage of fat is added. That is, only 4 parameters. In addition, the scales are not synchronized with the phone, but work only via Wi-Fi - to do this, you must first start a profile from the computer on the manufacturer's website, and then manage to connect the scales to your access point. It took me more than half an hour, because the scales refused to connect to the password-protected access point. I had to create a non-password guest network so that the scales could connect to the Internet. In general, it was the worst experience with smart weights. As for the testimony, they are quite accurate. The backlit screen gives out the values, but after weighing it asks to leave the scales and only after several tens of seconds reports all the results.

These scales look clearly simpler than they are. Nevertheless, they are worthy of close attention: four rubberized legs not only do not slip, but also work better on uneven floors. Under the monochrome display there was a place for three touch buttons, thanks to which you can even customize the profiles of each family member. Scales make measurement on 6 indicators. Synchronization with a smartphone made via Bluetooth. A smartphone application is not the most convenient, but still functional. It is possible to plan your weight, get schedules for different periods, and all this in Russian. Perhaps the only drawback of these scales is the lack of display illumination - in a darkened room it will be difficult to see the dark numbers on the screen.

It was surprising to find among the smart scales the former leader of mobile phones and the more interesting it was to test them. Scales are available in two different colors: white and black. Plastic feet do not have a rubber base. Instead, the manufacturer offers to stick on these legs other, larger size through a dense double-sided tape. Scales work out of the box, but when connected to a smartphone, they are slightly transformed. To begin with, they can be connected via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi - in the second case, it is not necessary to turn on the smartphone, the scales are synchronized with the profile via the Internet. When you first connect, the firmware is immediately updated if a new one has been released. Only two parameters are measured: weight and body mass index. But profiles can be created up to 8 pieces. It is curious that setting your location on a smartphone, you can get a weather forecast at the end of measurements - it motivates to weigh in in the morning, before leaving the house. The application also allows you to take into account the number of steps, heart rate or consumed products. There are even programs for pregnant women to track weight. Scales are definitely stylish, but the number of measured readings seems small.

The most expensive scales in our test. All the more surprising that they are able to no more than other models. Even without a smartphone, you can configure up to 5 profiles using the touch buttons. Scales measure 10 different parameters and also display without a smartphone, consistently displaying all the numbers on the screen. Synchronization with the smartphone and with the profile on the Internet takes place via Bluetooth. Scales are convenient to use, and the application is really sensible and communicates with the user in Russian. That's just to create a profile indicating the host country "Russia" is impossible - it is not clear whether the sanctions matter or anything else, but a fact. In the application, each parameter has its own page and allows you to observe a graph of a parameter change over time. In addition, these are the only scales that can measure a weight of more than 180 kg - a kind of record.

In addition, the general software for all smart gadgets will allow you to create a program to achieve the desired fitness. The only disappointment is that the device out of the box shows the weight in jin, which equals 500 grams in the SI system. And this parameter can be changed only after synchronization of the scales with the smartphone. There are no buttons and switches on the scales. It is all the more pleasant because the software is Russified, although the translation is not correct everywhere.

In our test, two models of weights from the manufacturer Picooc are presented, and they got here for good reason. For an amount of less than 3 thousand rubles, we get a whole range: measuring 12 different indicators, recommendations for achieving goals and good software for a smartphone. Like the previous model, there is a choice of ethnos - this will affect the detailed measurement of indicators. All this is available with step-by-step manager and in Russian. By the way, there is no need to tie the scales to the phone, just turn on the Bluetooth and the corresponding application. Scales are compact and do not take up much space. You can also choose from two colors: white or black. From the point of view of design and ergonomics, this is probably the best scales for your money. The LED indicator is perfectly visible in the dark and easy to read from any distance. As the tests showed, there is simply no weight run, as such,so you can safely trust them. Rubberized legs, like the other models, can be safely attributed to the pluses.

Conclusion
It's hard to surprise me, but Picooc succeeded. Honestly, I expected leadership from the Chinese giant of smart gadgets Xiaomi, but they clearly had a serious competitor. In addition, the tests demonstrate a very close workmanship for the devices in the line - it’s understandable: devices manufactured by one company most likely follow a single conveyor, which means that the functions and quality will be the same. Therefore, Picooc and Xiaomi devices captured the first four places. Separately, it is worth noting the system of motivation, which contributes to work on oneself - this is all clearly displayed on a smartphone with charts and tips. The price range of scales was somewhat surprised - prices for the same functions range from 3 to 16 thousand rubles. And it's pretty obvious what the consumer will choose. As for disappointment, the Polar Balance WH scales were surprisedthat they are able to synchronize only through an additional device, thus, the company Polar literally forces to buy another gadget.
And ahead already New Year's holidays loom. Friends after learning about the weights test were interested in only one thing: “Which scales show the least?”. My answer is this: Least of all, the scales are shown after a good run, playing snowballs and a good bath or sauna.

Glass top and plastic bottom, resembling a porous chocolate. Moreover, there is a possibility to choose the color of the scales: black or white. Out of the box, scales can show weight, but if they are synchronized with the network, then the ability to observe, in addition to weight, the percentage ratio of muscles, BMI and the percentage of fat is added. That is, only 4 parameters. In addition, the scales are not synchronized with the phone, but work only via Wi-Fi - to do this, you must first start a profile from the computer on the manufacturer's website, and then manage to connect the scales to your access point. It took me more than half an hour, because the scales refused to connect to the password-protected access point. I had to create a non-password guest network so that the scales could connect to the Internet. In general, it was the worst experience with smart weights. As for the testimony, they are quite accurate. The backlit screen gives out the values, but after weighing it asks to leave the scales and only after several tens of seconds reports all the results.

In our test, two models of weights from the manufacturer Picooc are presented, and they got here for good reason. You can also choose from two colors: white or black. From the point of view of design and ergonomics, this is probably the best scales for your money. The LED indicator is perfectly visible in the dark and easy to read from any distance. As the tests showed, there is simply no weight run, as such,so you can safely trust them. Rubberized legs, like the other models, can be safely attributed to the pluses.

It's hard to surprise me, but Picooc succeeded. Honestly, I expected leadership from the Chinese giant of smart gadgets Xiaomi, but they clearly had a serious competitor. In addition, the tests demonstrate a very close workmanship for the devices in the line - it’s understandable: devices manufactured by one company most likely follow a single conveyor, which means that the functions and quality will be the same. Therefore, Picooc and Xiaomi devices captured the first four places. Separately, it is worth noting the system of motivation, which contributes to work on oneself - this is all clearly displayed on a smartphone with charts and tips. The price range of scales was somewhat surprised - prices for the same functions range from 3 to 16 thousand rubles. And it's pretty obvious what the consumer will choose. As for disappointment, the Polar Balance WH scales were surprisedthat they are able to synchronize only through an additional device, thus, the company Polar literally forces to buy another gadget.
And ahead already New Year's holidays loom. Friends after learning about the weights test were interested in only one thing: “Which scales show the least?”. My answer is this: Least of all, the scales are shown after a good run, playing snowballs and a good bath or sauna.
