Yandex Science Prize named after Ilya Segalovich

Senior students, graduate students, as well as academic leaders who are engaged in developments in the field of computer vision, MO, speech recognition and data analysis can apply for the award. The prize for young researchers will be 350 thousand rubles. They will also go to an international conference on AI systems and undergo an internship at Yandex.
Scientific advisers will receive more - 700 thousand rubles.
The winners are selected by a special commission, which includes representatives of Yandex and professors from leading world universities. They will evaluate the quality of available publications, speeches at conferences and the overall contribution of nominees to the development of the scientific community.
The names of the laureates will be announced in the spring of next year, and the application can be submitted before January 13.
Competition: the best startup project "Gazprom Neft - ITMO University"

Starting this year, our students can defend graduation work in the format of a business project. As part of this initiative, with the support of PJSC Gazprom Neft, we are holding a competition for the best startup. It will be held in the format of a kind of accelerator : participants are waiting for a meeting with mentors at the Faculty of Technology Management and Innovation. Together with specialists from Gazprom Neft and other industrial leaders, the teams will model various ways of the company’s development: from launch to attracting investments.
At the end, students present projects on a demo day, where they will be evaluated by a jury. The commission will include experts from Gazprom Neft, employees of ITMO University and Foodtech specialists. Grants will receive twenty teams - one of them will leave with the main prize. The amount of remuneration depends on the level of readiness of the project and the availability of MVP. For a great idea, the team will receive 30 thousand rubles, for the prototype - 70 thousand. The prize for the best project - 100 thousand rubles.
ICPC World Cup Final Eurasia

ICPC is a global student sports programming competition . In early October , qualifiers for the Northern Eurasia region were already held , the participants of which were hosted by ITMO University. Now the best representatives of universities will fight for the right to reach the final of the ICPC, which will be held in Moscow in 2020. You can watch the battles online .
In addition to programming competitions, there will be lectures and master classes from large technology companies, banks and telecom operators: Yandex, Sberbank, Megafon, Huawei and Deutsche Bank. Everyone can come and listen to the speakers, but only by prior registration .

Neuro Festival-2019 “Educational Innovations with Neurotechnologies”
When: December 7th

This is an opportunity to learn about world developments in the field of NeuroTech. Within the framework of the festival, master classes will be held at which representatives of Russian companies will demonstrate the operation of the brain-computer (BCI) mobile interfaces, as well as talk about their applicability in sports and neurophysiology. Two mini-hackathons on mobile BCI will also take place on the site. They will be interesting to participants of all ages: schoolchildren, students and adults.

Standup “How did we live without flexible skills for 120 years?”

This is a speech by Mikhail Kurushkin, associate professor of the chemical-biological cluster, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of ITMO University. Today they talk and write a lot about the importance of soft-skills or “flexible skills”. They are also called "supra-subject competencies." Michael will conduct a humorous analysis of the catchy term and talk about the difficulties of translating it. Participants are waiting for the most substantive conversation about subject skills. Master class "Dream Team"

This is a master class from teachers of soft-skills disciplines from ITMO University. Within three hours they will tell you how to form an effective team, motivate employees and distribute roles. The practical part awaits the participants - a group mini-game about networking.
The event is for everyone, but registration is needed. A link to the form will appear closer to the date of the workshop.
ITMO University Winter School “You Have To Decide!”

Winter school for students studying in the areas of: big data, information security, programming and IT, robotics and photonics. Participants are expected to work with mentors in the subject area, master classes in soft skills, excursions to offices of technology companies and lectures from keynote speakers. Creative technology carousel for the digital world

Anastasia Prichislenko, Head of the Center for Personal Development at ITMO University, and leading business trainers from T&D Technologies will hold master classes on the basics of creative technologies. The course is built on five topics related to each other:
- Guided creativity - on the principles of the brain;
- Development of personal creativity - about types of thinking and training confidence;
- Creative team - how to form it and how to work with it;
- The practice of team creativity - training heuristics and skills of public presentation;
- Changing attitudes - the practice of weakening stereotypes and affirmations.
