The eighties ended and immediately quite sharply increased the number of games, both in general and then available in the USSR. To be honest, I donāt know the sources of that time. I doubt that they downloaded from somewhere - in our village, at least. Rather, they brought it from the capital in small but thick three-inch floppy disks. And then the owner of the three-inch drive copied these toys to five-inch floppy disks, on which they were already pulled away on other computers. Today, there is only one benefit from these drives - a hole in the case is closed if the system is not very new. On laptops, the drive was often quick-change - but this was already when the CD-ROM was launched in bulk. Although some models could have both at the same time.

Centurion: Defender of Rome
A global (within Europe) strategy with tactical battles, somewhat primitive diplomacy (I have four legions against your 100 barbarians, let's be friends), a couple of mini-games (chariot races, gladiator fights) for bored Romans, taxes and the ability to seduce Cleopatra. The toy is simple, but addictive.
Crime wave
And this is one of those games that came on three-inch floppy disks. Cool voice acting, live video, the ability to tear the enemy with a rocket to pieces and admire their flight across the screen. Well, yes, itās somewhat monotonous, the process to the end is the same - the design of the levels has only changed. But in childhood they did not pay attention to it. Then I met with claims on the topic of āripping off gameplay from Narc,ā but who saw this Narc on PC?
Disney's Duck Tales: The Quest for Gold
The only Duck Tales game that existed for me. In the one where Scrooge rode through the dungeons on his cane, I did not play, as far as I remember. There is also a mini-game collection with the goal of collecting more money in a month than Glomgold. The action takes place on a world map, where various treasures are marked. First you need to fly there on a Zigzag airplane with confused controls (and not crash at the same time), then one of the games becomes available - walking through the maze of racing with the mummy, climbing up the rocks, photographing rare animals, walking through the jungle. You can also play on the stock exchange. And then weigh the mined gold on a large scale.
Future classics collection
A collection of five games. Three-dimensional Tetris, relatives of boulder dash and pacman, three-dimensional maze and tanks. Most sat in tanks - you can play together, the goal is to kill the opponent.
Golden ax
The classic beat-em-up hails from shogi. Three heroes, good graphics for their time, the ability to play together.
King's bounty
A source of inspiration for the developers of Heroes of Might and Magic. Only one hero is available here, and the goal is to find the scepter of the king, collecting pieces of the card for this. Otherwise, there are not so many differences from heroes. More precisely - in the opposite direction, yet KB was earlier.
LHX: Attack Chopper
I'm not a special fan of flight simulators, but I spent a relatively long time behind the LHX - still one of the few helicopter simulators. Even four, including the Osprey tiltrotor.
Loom
At the sounds of the Luma loses his will. When I start the game, I donāt close it until I get through - the benefit is not too complicated and not too long. As a toy Sierra rode in one of the Space Quest'ov - "No other characters, no conflict, no puzzles, no chance of dying, and no interface". Although there are still puzzles, they are simple. And so - an interesting setting, an interesting idea, and an end hovering in the air that clearly hinted at a sequel.
The secret of monkey island
Another classic quest from Lucas Arts. A humorous story about trying to become a pirate, for which you have to go through three tests. And then entertainment in the Lukas style. It seems like the EGA and VGA versions both came out in 1990. Although if it was evening in the first, then in the second the Moon was already full.
Prince of persia
Prince.
Rebuild (Toppler)
Green ass rides on disappearing and emerging water lilies in the hope of getting to the coin. The author of the game borrowed the hero from Tower Toppler, whence the second name of the game (by the name of the executable).
F-29 Retaliator
As already said - I'm not a fan of simulations. But the C: \ RETAL folder was on almost all computers.
Star control
The first part of the second Star Control'a. Few played the strategic part, but spent a lot of time in the battles of the ships. The main thing is not to often pinch too many buttons on the keyboard, otherwise the opponentās control would be blocked and the computer battle would risk realizing.
Stunts
Racing, more valuable in the ability to build your tracks than directly in the racing part. Therefore, they usually built some kind of creepy structure, and then tried to pass on it.
Test Drive III: The Passion
Just pokatushki by car in the countryside. There was some purpose, but they did not pay attention to it. Relative freedom, realistic three-dimensional graphics, a choice of several cars. In comparison with the previous parts - a big step forward.
Wing commander
So far, the best series of āplotā space simulators, as it seems to me. The plot here was more than a simulator, but it pleased many. Me, for example. For simulators, there were other games.
Personal Gold Fund:
Centurion
Crime wave
King's bounty
Loom
Wing commander
Everything goes fine on the laptop, except for WC - it was generally moody regarding the processor speed and memory types.
