What happens to the Tele2 Internet

Hello everyone, Khabrovites!

Actually, the often triggered triggers of the Zabbix monitoring system prompted me to write this article to reduce the speed in the Tele2 network. For remote objects, to which it is impossible to carry out optics, forwarding of the recorder ports via USB modems is organized, flashed for any operators. Here is a simple equipment connection diagram:

By the way, our organization simultaneously uses the MegaFon mobile Internet for the same needs, but there are no similar problems with it. And the problem is the following: starting around noon on 07/07/2019, Zabbix’s notification about the zero speed of the web script on the pages of the video recorders became so frequent that the sender’s mail indicated in the Zabbix notification began to perceive the trigger letters as spam and not deliver them to the recipient, that is to me. It is also important that the background speed of problem networks as a whole satisfies, and the drops, although short-term, immediately go to zero. And if the channels of the registrars are “written” to remote media, then there will inevitably be problems with the integrity of the recording, at least, or even the inability to reconnect to the target registrar.

At the time of writing (19:25 08/10/2019) the frequency of the speed drop began to appear less frequently, however, if the drop occurs, then these are the registrars forwarded via Tele2. It is very important to note that we are talking about the whole of Moscow and the Moscow region. Even an increase in the period between inspections to 2 minutes practically did not change the situation. Also, the return of the default zabbix_server.conf (well, you never know) did not help at all. The call to the “Tele2” hotline did not give any explanation of what was happening, except for advice to try setting the modem to mixed mode (apparently it was about “LTE + UMTS”), which was not previously required, and if it was required, then not at all objects with Tele2 operator at the same time, and the problem clearly lies deeper than in choosing a protocol. And of course, on Monday, I will contact the corporate department of Tele2 to clarify the nature of this network behavior, but I doubt very much that TAM will want to somehow discredit itself. Therefore, this pasta, as it were, warns, but at the same time asks: “Has anyone noticed anything like“ Tele2 ”or Zabbix on their mobile Internet?

In this s @ cp @ n state, there is a folder for receiving a Zabbix alert (and so on 4 days in a row):

Zabbix card with video recorders (if in the mail screen it is not clear that the operator is “Tele2”, then this is obvious on the card):

Well, the cherry on the cake for all the previously mentioned facts is the synchronism of falls in Moscow and the nearest Moscow region, regardless of their geography. This did not include very distant points such as Dolmatovo and Fermat, although just look how toothy their graphs look:

Here is the fall time at the Drivers:

Here is the area of the rivals:

Around the same time, the fall in Strogino:

Location of Strogino:

And finally, the same “zero” in Shcherbinka:

She is here:

A small time out of sync is due to the difference at the beginning of the scan on the Zabbix server, but in general, as we see, the network behavior on the graphs is identical for the duration of this particular scan. Thank you for your attention, I will expect from you at least some similar observations regarding those. Bye everyone.

Friends, I drove a small but important update of the essence of what was written, namely: on the night of August 15-16, the falls in the Tele2 network stopped. Here is the time of the last drop noted on the graphs (after writing this article, the period between checks was increased from 2 to 10 minutes):

Shcherbinka - 5:43

The rivals - 3:33

Strogino - 2:54

Dolmatovo - 5:12

Filippovskoe - 6:35
