"Harmony is in a great mood." Interview with the creator of RealDoll and his sex robot (VIDEO)

He studied anatomy and materials for 20 years. He constantly honed the skills of the artist. He dreamed of making you move and teach a piece of plastic to talk. He dreamed and acted. And received.

He literally managed to overcome the effect of the "sinister valley . " Indeed: how can a pretty RealDoll scare someone?

Today we will talk about the author of the idea, the inventor and designer of RealDoll sex robots Matt McMullen . It was he who assembled the Realbotix team, which now continues to improve them.

Matt began work on the first prototypes back in 1997 in his own garage. As a result, over the past 20 years, this world has not been able to surpass its achievement: RealDoll is still considered the most realistic dolls.

It is interesting that initially they did not reflect as “dolls for love”. Matt dreamed of creating an advanced mannequin to showcase exclusive clothes in the most elite boutiques and fashion houses.

However, people were interested in something quite different.

They needed a comfort doll with full anatomical detail. As they say, the client is always right, so Matt still focused on this direction. He assembled a team in which there were enough people who were able to see the commercial benefits. And the artist, meanwhile, continued to engage in creativity. And the technical aspects, of course.

Matt himself shared these details in an interview with the Internet of Things forum.

In addition to the history of the creation of RealDoll, he told many other interesting facts. It turns out that on average it takes 80 hours and 15-20 people to create one doll.

When asked what is more important: realism or intelligence of dolls - he said that he had spent the last 20 years on their aesthetic design.

“I could only dream of having them move and talk,” noted Matt. “But now, with the help of new technologies and competent employees, I realized that this is all entirely feasible.”

In addition, he mentioned the resistance of the dolls to cyber attacks and other developments of the company.

In general, the video interview with Matt McMullen is a real must-see for viewing.

PS At the time of recording, the creator of RealDoll was going to visit the IV International Forum “Internet of Things” , but later it became known that, for reasons beyond his control, he would not be able to attend the conference in person - he would give a report online on October 31 at 16:30.
