A distinctive feature of Akb-blocks is scalability and flexibility.
Each battery has 35 kWh of energy; for combined 350 kWh, you can use up to 10 acb. With available versions of 400 V and 800 V, the system can be easily configured through the vehicle interface box (VIB), which is the main battery management system and power distribution unit.
Options for installing modules.
Inside the battery pack, stand-alone modules also include desiccant cartridges that reduce condensation, built-in heat sensors and state-of-the-art pressure balance monitors for added safety. The compact, energy-intensive format allows engineers to easily configure batteries for use on virtually any vehicle platform.
The Standard Battery System for Commercial Vehicles (CV) is now available in North America. With this modular battery system, Webasto meets the requirements of several commercial vehicle manufacturers in order to have an economical solution even for small series of vehicles. The configuration of a customizable battery system based on standardized components is particularly economical.
Temperature control systems.
Battery conditioning is essential to battery life and health. Webasto offers both off-the-shelf solutions for the standard CV battery as well as customized solutions for automotive projects. Using both active and passive cooling, electric fluid heating, and various heat pump configurations, Webasto's temperature management system maintains battery systems at optimal operating temperatures, which positively affects performance and range.
