It's never too late to start a new way
I would like to share my history of undertaking in the field of iOs development in its full 50 years.
Somehow in life, I always followed the principle that in life you need to try everything. Probably, it went from childhood. Then there was not even such a thing as a “gadget”, and my friends and I, after school, signed up for new sections and new circles, in short, we were looking for what to do with ourselves. All kinds of martial arts, table tennis, volleyball were tested ... Playing the guitar, a year of rehearsals and concerts in the orchestra of folk instruments, then playing the VIA - in short, the whole world is at your feet). Then there was an institute with a degree in Radio Engineering, and after the army, since 1989, the soldering-sculpting of the ZX-Spectrum (I think there are still people who remember these devices), the assembly and repair of televisions, and then, from the beginning of the 2000s, repair mobile phones and other gadgets.
The field of programming languages for me has always been something from another dimension. The people who were programming and creating programs and applications were for me people from the matrix - super people). I was 100% sure that programming was definitely not mine. But, about a year ago, my eldest son Maxim wrote an online Swift programming course. And in this industry I have not tried myself yet. Without hesitation, enrolled in students, despite his age and, as in the good old student days, classes began. Rise at 5 in the morning, listening to lectures, homework. I felt myself 30 years younger))). The idea of the first application was "born" in the study of tables. I remembered that I was always too lazy to learn the maximum number of irregular English verbs. So I decided while I was writing this application - I will fill in this gap, and the youngest son is studying in a class with in-depth study of English, who will be forced to test the application. Design. I wanted to create a funny, cartoony interface, I pulled funny pictures from neta and showed the appearance of the application to my friend - an artist and a part-time teacher. He gave my funny pictures to a review of his daughter, also an artist and designer, she rejected all my art and the next morning I got a completely different look and design of the application. The application looked like this:
It took about 3 months to write the first version, a month of which I spent on writing the logic of a simulator - a dictation for better memorization of words. And here it is, the moment of truth - my first application was published on the App Store. However, after some time, I realized that the simple and understandable interface for me was actually clear only to me. I had to redo everything, separate the modes of classes. It turned out, as for me, a rather effective application for learning English irregular verbs with four separate training modes and a simulator mode for a dictation.
Now I started writing another application to simplify learning English. Then I'll try to make a tutorial in the form of a game for children. There are many ideas - there would be enough time and effort. I hope that I have inspired at least someone for positive life changes. When it was difficult for me to learn something, or some material was not given, it always included A. Barykin’s song “Star Ship” and the words: “It's never too late to start a new way, believe me anyway - there will be no two deaths ... "Led me forward.
